Just love October’s “yellow surround effect” - you can catch it only a few days when color optimal and gray sky, preferably damp, too

Skype 2.8.0.722 #Fail #Errors

Very unhappy that Skype released this piece of garbage; must be force quit every time.  Here are the details.. as you can see, many issues, bad software. Worse, they have the classic maze on skype.com so you can’t reach them easily. They’ve become a microsoft I’m afraid.. and I was a raving fan for years. Very disappointed.

MITEF "Entrepreneurs/Innovators Resources" Live Blogged

To read in the order I blogged it, go back 3 pages to start and read in reverse order (from bottom to top).  I tried to correct a few typos but time doesn’t allow for perfection; I pecked this out on an iPhone!

Similar theme here to other entrepreneurial panels I’ve seen over the years.

  • Chicagoans don’t self-promote enough
  • The community isn’t collaborative enough, it’s separated
  • Chicago’s value prop is domain knowledge, not technology (like the [Silicon] Valley)
  • Entrepreneurs need to get smarter about research and sharing control
  • We have a LOT of assets and resources that aren’t used to best effect
  • Dave Weinstein and Ron May are a riot
MITEF packed the house, as usual

Ron people here don’t self promote. Max investmt 1.

I asked how they saw the community using social networks to shave the business cycle. There’s work to be done here, as all panelists made false assumptions about SNs: Dave on social nwks my q. Ron about trust (rather than social networks). Fred qual v quant (perceived SNs about quantity). Nik face to face key (more important than SNs). David nonconclusive answer. There’s an oppy here.

Altercation Ron may wanted to keep the mic but Lanny got it away from him! Huffing ,-D

Big battery discn. My friend in London hot on those.

Ron distrib control. Must do if u can’t. Weinstein solve a real problem. Trading companies. Huge bus in Chicago. Weinstein likes disruption. BS, the coasts. Chicago fred bigger than Austin or nc. Nik were not collab enough. IIT siloed. Need to break down.

Nik. Very few people get financing no sense of reality, credit cards. New q. How to give up control? Fred it’s a maturing process share control. David need to understand your role.
